PuckData started with a small frustration: not being able to find out the score.

If you follow college hockey, you know the feeling. A game ends, you refresh, and nothing changes. Sometimes it’s a while before it does. There’s a lot of good work being done in this space by people who care about the sport, but college hockey has never had the infrastructure that bigger sports take for granted.

I wanted something that stayed current. So I built it.

PuckData is scores, schedules, standings, and stats for NCAA hockey, and hopefully more in the future. When something comes through wrong, it gets fixed quickly rather than eventually.

No ads. No autoplay video, no popup covering the standings. It’s a site that shows you hockey information and then gets out of your way.

Just me. I’m a software architect by trade and a college hockey fan the rest of the time. This site is what happens when someone with both of those spends a few years annoyed at the same problem.

That means development moves at the pace one person can move, and some things will take longer than you’d like. It also means there’s no advertiser to keep happy and no reason to make the site worse on purpose. When something breaks, you’re emailing the person who can fix it.

Sports data is expensive, genuinely so for a solo project. Subscriptions will be what keeps this running, and they’re coming shortly after launch.

For now, everything here is open. Once accounts are live, the free tier stays free: scores, schedules, standings, box scores. Subscribers will get live data the moment it happens, plus the deeper tools as they roll out.

Accounts and subscriptions first. Women’s hockey and Division III after that. Beyond that there’s a longer list I’d rather build than promise.
